1 in 10 chance seems fairly reasonable, and keeps exploration a more reliable, albeit limited, source. That said, I would not be a fan of a guaranteed Life Crystal in golden crates. If fishing was barely viable, Terraria on mobile would become barely viable for me. Having a fishing spot at spawn means I can fire up the game, and use those 15 minutes fishing to gather resources, rather than waste most of it travelling. Spawn rates are different depending on the Biome, depth, Weather and the time of day. Hostile and friendly NPCs can only spawn in a 168x94 tiles area around the player, and there is a limit to how many enemies can exist in an area at the same time. If I only have 15 minutes, spending 10 minutes trekking to a place I want to explore leaves me little time for actual exploration. An essential part of enemy farming is knowing the basics of NPC spawning. Yeah I know but those are ridiculously hard to find, Im talking about the ones you can find on the surface. You can still find Enchanted Swords in the underground or cavern layer without them being in the shine structure. If I have a spare 15 minutes, say travelling to work, I play on mobile. I dont think Sword Shrines were excluded from For the Worthy. then the sword shrines got changed in 1.4 so they no longer generate with fake sword alters and the shrines arnt guarantied spawns. When I have plenty of time for a good play, I tend to play on console. What version could you get enchanted sword spawn on caves till, they added the enchanted sword shirne. To me, it marries well with having an alternative means of gaining post-hardmode pre-mechanical ores. Silt/slush and an extractinator are a viable way of obtaining pre-hardmode ores with a little less exploration. More so in early game where players are less likely to have a ready supply of the necessary ingredients/bait.
#TERRARIA ENCHANTED SWORD SPAWN RATE PLUS#
The time and resources needed to successfully fish for crates (ingredients for sonar, crate and fishing potions, plus bait, along with the time/weather requirements for higher fishing powers), would seem to balance well against the time spent exploring. I see no problem being able to use fishing (which in my experience is much slower, and far less reliable when looking for a specific ore) to gather enough ore to fashion some reasonable armour in preparation for exploration. The Enchanted Sword is a Hardmode enemy which spawns in the Underground Hallow. Why should fishing be barely viable? Exploration is more than just looking for ores, with plenty of other reasons to do so. Not only will this give you access to more "stuff", you'll also reduce the likelihood of players fighting over resources, since the World Evils will be different & the amount of resources tend to be more plentiful.įishing is already overpowered enough in 1.4, I don't really think it needs any more buffs.

The chance that a type of ore or bar is dropped is 37.5*3/8 (37.5%). The table above implies otherwise with the four groups being in separate rows, but that is for readability purposes. Note: Only one type of item out of all ores and bars can drop, not both a type of ore and a type of bar or any other combination of the four groups.
